Born in Bolivia, Jason Burgos’ first language was Spanish. He moved to Canada when he was six and quickly learned English and picked up a guitar when he was 10. Mostly self-taught, he went on to learn piano and violin, and learned to manipulate and produce sound on his own, before studying guitar and production at Metalworks. He moved on to launch XMJ Productions & Pink Distortion Music in Toronto soon after.
When he was younger he listened to a lot of '80s music and classical composers. Later developing an appreciation for R&B and Hip Hop, and ultimately classic rock, fusion, and jazz. These influences echo in the flow and precision of Jason’s contributions to The Peculiar as writer and guitarist.
